You can’t help but root for Alyssa from the moment the lights come up. Any concerns about what to expect with a show with a title like this, are immediately dispelled as she takes us through a harrowing experience with ease and confidence. She’s telling us about a time when she was in Trouble, but with such lightness that we feel safe to laugh at things that, in lesser hands, would not seem even slightly funny. Well done.

My overall impression
This show is remarkable. Alyssa is a force of nature. As someone who has had a close family member with schizophrenia, much of this hit very close to home. Other aspects of it were eye opening and still others were truly heartbreaking.
I cried a little and I laughed a lot. To see her turn something so dark, into such a funny, emotional and inspiring piece of art was a gift that I am grateful she was willing to share with us.
