What a smart show! This is absurdist theatre and not being entirely attuned to such, it took a bit for me to settle in to the show but the full commitment of the actors softened my modern-theatre mind and then the story really started to take shape and I was along for the ride. The staging supports the action in a simple and engaging scene as the characters travel along to their adventure on the hot-air balloon and by the end of that journey, I felt fully invested in their fate. The third act is a thrill as new characters emerge, the three actors doubling, and themes of our fates lay bare. This was a fully realized production starting with a very strong script, staged dynamically by the director and acted with gusto.
