The three actors playing different roles…very clever. The true story and the setting: Versailles and a chance meeting Marie Antoinette. It had a very screwball comedy, Lubitsch comedy of errors charm to it. I learned that nobody eats roosters!
What I didn't like
This show deserves a playing on a grand stage with lavish costumes and sets. It’s set in and around Versailles, after all. This is a fantastic start though. It’s performed in English… I was hoping for a French play. The bios in the enlightened playbill are fantastical, so I went home and googled who the company really was. Tout en s’amusant!!
My overall impression
This show felt like I was back in the West End in London. A witty poetic play. Brilliant dual performances by Dana Schwartz, Justin Huen and Robert Paterno. The quick turnaround costume/character changes were tremendous fun. The hour flew by and what a ride it was!!
