In 1783, in the Palace of Versailles, a duck, a rooster, and a sheep are the first living creatures to go up in a hot-air balloon. This hilarious and witty one-act comedy explores what happens on the day of this astonishing adventure. The play begins on a farm near the palace and ends up in the forest just outside the gardens. The three creatures cross paths with a queen masquerading as a shepherdess, the palace guard sent to find her, and a hunter who believes he has found the perfect wife.
