I liked the two different timelines… with one story present day, we’re in that very moment and the other starting where they are now and going backwards to see how the affair started. I liked the tone… funny moments and serious. It felt very real. Like peeking inside someone’s home.
I thought the male lead, Ryan Pearcy, was a standout. I liked his character a lot, I would have liked more time with him to see what’s really going on inside him, his inner turmoil.
What I didn't like
I thought there were maybe too many characters. I think just three characters — the main couple and the woman he’s having an affair with — might have made it tenser. Maybe add the sister, too. Some of the dialog was a little repetitive. I thought the dialog could have been pushed more. While is felt real, it could have deeper. It felt a bit too on the surface. But a solid Fringe showing overall.
My overall impression
I thought it was a really strong relationship story. Neil Simon-esque — very real, very fast, snappy dialog. But modern, created for today.
