What I liked
I loved the balance of serious and silly that Callie brings to the stage. It feels perfectly paced between these two emotions, which makes it easy to digest some rather scary details of the story. The music and lyrics work together making the most out of both elements.
What I didn't like
More technical elements could possibly be used to support the action.
My overall impression
Callie Ott is a powerhouse performer who carries this showtune-packed show with charisma, comedic chops and a ton of heart. Her story is not only extremely raw, but also inspiring to women who know what it’s like to be trapped in a dangerous cycle of abuse with a toxic man. But don’t let the subject matter scare you. This show is hilarious and keeps you laughing from start to end. And the music by Tony Gonzalez makes you dance in your seat!
