Ben commits so well to the performance of the piece that you might think it’s really happening in moments. But he sticks the landing as you stay with him throughout his theatrical angle on panic attacks. His poetry is beautifully written and told, and you feel the love in him in each line. Pancakes. He does the most with pancakes.
What I didn't like
After the show he expressed that he thought he messed up on stage, but I couldn’t tell. I hope he knows going forward that he has a lot of power and room in the design of his show for imperfection.
My overall impression
Ben Kassoy’s use of movement and physicality brings his life story and poetry to a new level. “The Funny Thing About a Panic Attack” is both gorgeous and inspiring.
