Intersectionality the solo show! With every new life experience or identity marker I was like yeah damn that is a lot to juggle. Felt like when you get really close to a new friend they fill you in on their childhood. She’s so personalable and real. ... full review

Oh, what a riot this one was. Anis takes us through a whirlwind journey that encompasses everything from ethnic identity, representation politics, girlhood, teenage, sexual awakening, popular culture references, intersectional identity politics, and being a multi-racial person. And she does so with so much ease. It was truly a wonderful treat. ... full review

Me be me captured super complex topics (intersectionality, -isms, mental health, developmental trauma, etc) with a witty, intellectual, and raw tone. Serena is a loving, genuine human whose own vulnerability warms the audience up to question their own journey in personal identity. An invitation to quiet the noise and embrace yourself. Leaving in a warm glow of Serena's heartfelt sincerity and renewed appreciation for me being me.... full review

An entertaining, high energy exploration of Serena's identity. True to its description, Me Be Me is a lovably chaotic portrait of mixed race identity, the female experience, sisterhood, daughterhood, and more.... full review

A very funny and vulnerable performance that was highlighted by the writer’s honesty about all of her life experiences. A lot of insights that is individual to her but is relatable to many. And with some very funny one liners that bring memories for anyone who grew up in the 90s and 2000s.... full review

The show was so authentic and raw. Serena is a no BS performer, and I love that about her. Her humor, dry wit, and use of projections really elevated the show to another level. I really appreciated being let into her struggles with identity and how that's represented in the omnipotent "media."... full review

Unabashed, hilarious look into Serena Anis' life through the recounting of her family's history, her childhood, adolescence, and venture into acting as a BIPOC with an alphabet soup of ailments. Serena's performance left me laughing from my gut, almost crying, feeling connected, confused, and sometimes, feeling nothing. Her courage to present herself to the audience, for all her perceived positive and negative physical and psychological characteristics, as her "true" self, shined light to the complexities of growing up and living in our new reality of social fawning and cancel culture. I dare say it may help those who watch her portrayal shed some of their own veils and masks. When a performer makes a slew of pop culture references that reso... full review
