I liked that The performer assumed the role of her parents, mainly her mother throughout the show. The level of vulnerability she showed in order to tell her life story was immense. The music was also was excellent with a variety of styles for various scenes.
What I didn't like
Sometimes we didn’t know whether to participate, talk, or sing along as the audience, so a disclaimer in the beginning that it’s all ok would help the audience feel at ease and get more participation.
My overall impression
The show was incredible for a few reasons. The performer was able to assume the role of multiple characters, such that with the audience, forgot that she is one person. It felt like we were taken on a journey through her life, both good and bad times, and that is a highly relatable thing.
