What I liked
Christina is very funny and dry in her delivery. I love that she truly allowed herself to be extremely vulnerable. And the discovery at the end with why she put up with all the BS in the first place was great.
What I didn't like
I felt like Christina could have connected more with the audience in the storytelling, eliminating some of the pacing left to right on the stage, facing fully out front. Stillness can be powerful.
I loved the set pieces, but felt like they weren’t utilized. So then, maybe unnecessary?
When emotion overtakes us, we have to succumb sometimes…it’s interesting as an audience member to see how the artist deals with it. So, no need to “pause” the performance when reaching for a tissue. Push through it and breathe. It’s hard to do and oh so vulnerable. But doable and so interesting to watch!
My overall impression
A funny, vulnerable performance about a very personal experience – that we can all relate to on some level.
