She doesn’t pull any punches or any jokes. I’m so impressed with her balance of comedy and darkness. For as funny as the clowning was, there was such a sharp cleverness to everything, like you were watching two stories at once—the one on stage and the one in the subtext.

My overall impression
Captivating and hilarious from start to finish. Alina has expertly translated her Soviet childhood into a series of genius clown bits. A perfect blend of silliness and empathy that leaves you in awe of her command of the audience and her infectious playfulness. Absolutely shocking that this is her first clown show, she’s already mastered it.
