What I liked
The writing was very strong, the lead actress was phenomenal. I wish there were more moments with her.
I’m not sure we needed to see her reading her own autopsy… maybe could be handled in a Doctor’s voiceover?
My instincts are that there might be an even deeper layer to dig into, but what they achieved is fantastic already.
What I didn't like
Dani’s wife, Terry, felt a little one dimensional; as well as the sister character.
Dani’s job felt a little unspecific… if he were on the phone more throughout, maybe that can ground him a little more.
Also if Dani was a type of father figure because their dad was too busy chasing women, that could be an interesting wrinkle. Like Dani always has had to clean up for him.
My overall impression
Really great characters and a deep and heartfelt story.
Tough emotional moments were staged beautifully and tasteful.
I know it was a staged reading but to me it could’ve been a full production with 2 more weeks of rehearsal.
