I particularly liked the times when the cast was able to, and actively moved to step outside of the stereotypical roles of the two couples in demanding contests (tv trivia and spelling bee) like when the prostitute, Donna fantasizes about what it would’ve been like to be one of the lead characters in the Partridge family TV show, and when the female tv trivia partner reflects on what the contest means to both her and her partner, saying perhaps it means “more to him than to me”.
What I didn't like
Although I know the show has been updated since it was originally written as a play to include music, the tv references it emphasized might’ve been more helpful, especially to the younger members of the audience, to include references to the way “screen time” has come to mean time on the Internet and on social media and no longer on TV.
My overall impression
Attended 3x-show was so fast moving and frenetic, it helped a lot to catch things I’d missed in previous performances!
