I love how the proceeds of the show help a family in need in Palestine. Myriam is a conduit for all of these people’s stories and is able to express their hopes and fears across gender and age lines. I also loved learning the traditional Palestinian dance after the show.
What I didn't like
The projection was hard to read at times due to the pole in the middle of the stage. But it did not significantly take away from the show.
My overall impression
What a powerful show. The stories flowed effortlessly together and showed different angles of what humanity looks like under horrendous circumstances. Handala sheds light on people and a culture who have been suffering for generations.
