The flow of the story was emotionally rousing and effective in engaging the audience time and time again.
The grandma character was a huge crowd pleaser. So well done!
What I didn't like
I think the live music was only planned for the preview, but it was so lovely. It would be nice if they could keep it for the remaining performances.
My overall impression
Handala is a beautiful piece, with a stellar performance from Myriam Ali-Ahmad, whose range and depth as a performer is in full display here. It’s a touching work full of empathy, pride and hope, straight from the heart of all who collaborated to assemble it. Its cause is both urgent and timeless, in essence; a call to protect the human spirit, as it fights through the thickest of shadows.
