What I liked
The piece delves into the complexities of maternal relationships by intertwining her experiences with her grandmother and mother. Utilizing shadow puppetry, boxing random an ancient and versatile art form, Walker brings to life the memories and stories of her grandmother, creating a unique and ephemeral performance.
What I didn't like
This show offers a touching exploration of family dynamics, identity, and the power of storytelling across generations.
My overall impression
Not My Grandmother’s Daughter" is a deeply personal and evocative theatrical work by Harley Walker, a graduate student in Puppet Arts at the University of Connecticut.
