Lily’s stage presence and her performance of the material is commendable as she seamlessly moves from moments of high energy to more grounded and vulnerable moments. The writing itself blends the fantastical and the real/the figurative and the literal really well. I particularly enjoyed the use of the fairy tales as a device to get the stories across to the viewer. It’s original and elevates the subject matter.
Oh, and a shoutout to the director who does a great job of using the space and framing what’s important to draw the viewer’s focus.
What I didn't like
Nothing particular comes to mind. I liked it!
My overall impression
“The Fairy Who Cried Gems” is a well-written show that’s supported by a strong performance from Lily, and does a great job of showcasing her talents.
