The show is hilarious, high energy and oddly life affirming to its audience. The temptation to make Tensil Newbottom into some two-bit grifter is avoided, and instead we’re presented with a well-meaning (if possibly slightly brain damaged) self-help star who really cares.
What I didn't like
I loved the show. I can’t wait to see what else Blackwell does or where the character goes from here.
My overall impression
Combining the often frightening manic energy (and style) of a Republican First Lady with the hilarious quickness of Jan Hooks, Emily Blackwell has created a character that is simply impossible not to love.
