What I liked

The whole performance really worked for me. From the moment she steps on stage the energy she brings is incredible. Her sho was really funny and inspiring.

What I didn't like

I wish it could be longer! I’d love to see her develop this character and show even more.

My overall impression

“Holy jumping potatoes!”

That’s how Emily Blackwell kicks off her hilarious one-woman show, Show ’em Your Best with Tensil Newbottom. From the moment she steps on stage in her purple blazer, channeling an over-the-top motivational speaker with a southern accent, the audience is hooked.

Emily’s portrayal of Tensil Newbottom is both uproarious and captivating. Tensil isn’t just a motivational speaker; she’s also a self-proclaimed love guru. One of the standout moments is the bit called “The Three C’s,” where Tensil brings two audience members on stage and leads them through a series of exercises designed to make them fall in love. It’s a riot, blending improvisation and audience interaction seamlessly.

The energy in the room is electric, and Emily’s ability to improvise adds an unpredictable and delightful edge to the performance. Her interaction with the audience is not just engaging but also makes each show unique.

From quotable lines to memorable jokes, Show ’em Your Best with Tensil Newbottom is packed with comedic gold. Emily Blackwell’s performance is a tour de force that will be remembered for a long time. If you’re looking for a show that promises laughter and a high-energy experience, this is it.
