Drip

This play requires a more explicit trigger warning. I went in expecting to see a show discussing the impact of sexual assault on one's psyche, I did not expect to watch the main character get assaulted over and over again. In the description of the piece, it reads "It is not the intent of Drip to shock or sensationalize the violence and abuse women face, but to represent them without fear or restraint" but I disagree with it. The abuse the main character faced, as well as continually showing the audience her assaults, felt like it existed for shock value and shock value alone. I also believe the narrative of an SA survivor getting into sex work because that's all she can do because of her trauma is dangerous, and borders on sexist tropes in ... full review

Drip was a heart breaking and intense journey into the broken soul of a young woman. Great acting and Scenery. Highly recommend the play for anyone seeking for an intense experience.... full review
