I loved Mayuri’s command of the space. The lighting worked together beautifully with telling various characters/stories, along with the use of levels, and dancing among the steps of the audience. The use of modern music interwined with traditional music of the dance form made it much more accessible for an audience who may not know much about the topics the show touches on. Also the faces were on point!
What I didn't like
The added seating in the front row made it difficult for me to see. I missed the extent of the beautiful yoga poses and floor choreography of the show, and since that was I what was so excited to see, I was just a little bummed about that! Truly wanted to see Mayuri dance endlessly!
My overall impression
Such a fun, and unique one-woman show. I loved the elements of dance, physicality and use of live percussion. The dance was absolutely spell-binding and I could have watched the entire show with just Mayuri’s choreography!
