The writing and acting were exceptional. I also really enjoyed the live musical accompaniment. Very unusual subject matter, as well.
What I didn't like
The only thing I would change in the performance is the set. If there was another area, perhaps a foot higher riser center stage, it would help the audience see better.
My overall impression
The Anti Yogi was one of the best one-person shows I have ever seen. Mayuri Bhandari portrays several diverse characters from a vacuous Valley-girl Yoga teacher to the Buddha without skipping a beat. She also wrote the show which tells the story of her lifetime commitment to the practice of Yoga and how this has shaped and defined her world view. The show is funny, thought provoking and uplifting. Oh, and did I mention she’s also a beautiful dancer? The live percussionist is also a plus. Run, do not walk, to see this show!
