What I liked
Just like a Shakespeare play, there was a meaningful balance of tragedy and comedic moments. Nicole’s acting as Benvolio in particular hit home for me. I loved thinking about Hamlet and R&J taking place in concurrent timelines. What else could be true?

My overall impression
I absolutely loved this fresh take on Shakespeare. A fabulous look at the internal lives of secondary characters — and the title is totally right, they really need better friends. Accessible for people who haven’t read Hamlet since high school (me!) as well as Shakespeare aficionados.
