The modern perspective on the dysfunction rife in Shakespeare’s tragedies is fascinating. (Though it did cross my mind that technically Hamlet was set in Denmark and Romeo & Juliet in Italy, so that would be a jet-set lifestyle for those characters to interact so much…)
It was fun being in a theater crowd hearing so many people get the references.
It is indeed important to deal with the pain suffered by survivors of trauma — and this playful look at iconic dramas embraces that.

The contemporary updating (and getting away from iambic pentameter) felt right.
