We Need Better Friends dares to ask "What if Shakespeare was Frasier?"
Great show for anyone with an ounce of Bard inside of them....

This was show was clearly birthed from a deep love, appreciation and understanding of Hamlet and R&J. At the same time it's accessible and enjoyable for non-shakespeare nerds! Even though I knew what was coming, I never got ahead of the show and loved watching these characters re-tell the horror stories of their days. Makes me wonder what other Shakespeare characters could have spin offs!...

I'm generally familiar with the two source materials that the characters were pulled from: I read one of the plays in high school, and the other one has been parodied so much that I'm familiar with the characters and storyline. It definitely helped having at least that base knowledge, but the show still was clear enough to understand the what was going on without it. Definitely recommend for Shakespeare fans and non-Shakespeare fans alike!...

So clever! James and Nicole bring out all the humor, heartbreak, and truth of what it is like to be "the best friend" in a Shakespearean tragedy. The depth they provide to each of their characters outside the boundaries of the original plays is beautiful and I loved every second of it....

A very fun and moving exploration of some of Shakespeare’s “best friend” characters and their lives. Nicole and James make a great team navigating the plays rollercoaster of emotions. Very fun for a Shakespeare loving audience member! ...

Super delightful Shakespeare-adjacent two-hander that tickles those of us who are especially familiar with the plays from which these characters come. The actors had wonderful chemistry and were able to successfully build on all the offstage drama we never see (but know oh so well) to inform their choices and arcs....

‘Better Friends’ was a fantastic examination of the impact so-called main characters have on the people around them. As tragic as we claim these tragic figures are, the fallout is carried by those left to tell their story and the rest is only silence for the jerks hogging the title....
