The emotions Jean shared were real, raw, and touching.
What I didn't like
A couple of the early childhood scenes could be deleted or shortened.
My overall impression
I happen to be a very plain vanilla type of sex person, and I’m actually really happy with how that plays out for me. So to witness a show where the sexual content is at an 11 when I’m basically at a 1, was a daunting prospect. But I flew out from San Francisco to see the show in LA, anyway. I can attest that Jean’s explanation of BDSM and how she came to embrace it was told in a way that I could not only accept, but also to cheer Jean on as she told the story of how BDSM became an integral part of her life. I was touched by the emotions that were common to us both, such as rejection by a potential love interest and how much intimacy to share with others that you love. I came away with appreciation and deep respect for Jean’s experience. She’s a natural storyteller, and there’s something in this story for everyone who has ever loved another human being. Bravo, Jean!
