What I liked

Seamlessly combining song, poetry and music in the same way Gil Scott-Heron did on his albums and in concert, the show created a nostalgic experience that was easy for me to get lost in. This production of Bluesology creatively entertained, inspired and educated me in a beautiful way. There were a number of incredibly powerful moments in the show, but the one that stood out most for me was the performance of my favorite Gil Scott-Heron song, “Home Is Where the Hatred Is.” Gia Scott-Heron, the talented daughter of the musical legend, fought back tears during her raw and powerful rendition of her father’s classic hit. BRAVO to everyone who touched the stage or played part in bringing this phenomenal production to life!!!

What I didn't like

There is no way a show this good should be this short. I know it was due to the venue’s time constraint, so I look forward to more more more! And I hear that something new will be included in each of the future showings. Great!

My overall impression

Yes! I was completely in my element experiencing this powerfully engaging production highlighting the works of one of my favorite musical/poetical performers of all time!
The cast of actors, singers, poets and musicians put on a dynamic show that was nothing less than extraordinary. I felt the magical presence of the late great Mr. Gil Scott-Heron flowing through the theater as the performers left their souls on stage while giving the audience a taste of the legend’s prophetic catalog. This was a show to see!
