What I liked
Congratulations on finding such a stunning perfect cast!! The show does not feel heavy or overwhelming at all for a 10-cast HFF show. Everyone did a great job impressing people with their strong character at the first glance.
The play was so well-written: the structure is clever and easy to follow even for a person like me who knows very little about Cuba’s politics and history – and I absolutely wanted to learn more about it after watching it. The play-within-the-play twist near the end is smart and right on point.
And did I mention “dramaturgically-smart” it is to use a puppet to play Fidel Castro? I can’t think of any better ways to present the most famous dictator on stage than a dorky puppet.
What I didn't like
I am looking forward to future productions and development of the play!
My overall impression
Hilarious and thought-provoking!!! This is exactly the kind of theatre I want right now: it offers you an escape from your ordinary life, and make you leave the theatre with more questions and thoughts in mind.
