What I liked
I could not be more impressed by how well curated and thoughtful the script, book and overall show format – feeling like the order of the songs and “performers” created a perfect flow/rhythm that told it’s own story. I still find myself almost a week later singing some of the songs of this show.
I was also very very glad that a lot of more lesser-commonly-known astrology parts of the show were very clearly explained and understandable, let me just get lost with Emma and not having to worry about knowing anything about subject matter beforehand.
What I didn't like
Just for my own personal preference, I would have preferred less characters but I am aware that the amount of characters was very intentional for the writing and the show so really wouldn’t improve anything else, I absolutely loved this!
My overall impression
It’s really tough to sell me on a one person show that is 60 or more minutes, let alone one that includes a whole slew of characters, but I was floating amongst the stars at Emma’s show and truly left blown out of this world by her willingness to be vulnerable about what makes her who she is in a way we all can feel comfortable laughing and learning in or about. Emma has really found a mastery in the side of clowning of getting the audience to love the clown and what the clown is doing, letting her tell each character’s story with the audience already endeared to them.
