The dynamic between Benedict and Beatrice was outstanding as well as both of the actors in these roles. Benedict gave some of the funniest moments. Another highlight for me was Don John. I loved the queer undertones during pride month. Makes my heart warm.
What I didn't like
With this being a preview show there are some things that could be improved. One smaller role needed to project more as it was difficult to hear. A few music cues seemed off and a few musical numbers seemed unnecessary.
My overall impression
We t to see this quirky fun show on preview night and thoroughly enjoyed it. This drag adaptation took a queer turn and I fully appreciated that twist. I had many laugh out loud moments between the comedic dialogue and some of the actors gestures and facial expressions. Overall the cast did a great job with some standouts.
