As a fan of improvisation, I really enjoyed when Sam asked for assistance from the audience to set the stage for her next bit. So while you are waiting to be seated, be sure to write down something asked and perhaps your suggestion will be selected to be part of the show. I also enjoyed Sam’s ability to laugh at herself for as an actor in Hollywood, it’s better to laugh than get depressed when even your best audition gets you nowhere – until it does by just being yourself. Edith Mudge accompanies Sam, and provided original music and orchestrations.
What I didn't like
Having worked in the industry for two decades, it would haver been nice to see accompanying clips from either her auditions or completed projects, especially since she is CEO of her own SamSkape Productions, Inc.
My overall impression
Sam Lebrecque moves from self-deprecating humor through all the human emotions anyone trying to make a name for themselves in Hollywood will understand. Voiceover conversations, often with herself, take us from audition to audition, then from rejection to rejection. And all the while Sam’s “Energy Bunny” choreography accompanying song parodies from stage and cinema will keep you entertained during her 50-minute show.
