Script is hilarious and the actors have clearly worked together well and thoroughly. Despite certain story directions being very much in the audience hands, they pivoted each moment seamlessly. Direction: so much good use of space and movement! Especially highlighted in a moment between phone calls that moves so well between the characters being on and off stage.
What I didn't like
Very few, but the pace in one or two of the serious moments could be picked up. The slow down is nice to highlight the heart/drama against the overall comedy, but when the rest of the play is very quick, it can feel more laborious. It’s possible I was just an antsy audience member wanting to see how the they’d resolve the pickle they’re in though.
My overall impression
So. Much. Fun! Overall hilarious, but clearly there are some great serious moments. There was a genuine feeling in the audience that we all became more invested in the characters and story line from the first moment we got a taste of how our choices influence the play. The fact that there are multiple endings? Definitely a strong enticement to come back for multiple shows. (I say this as someone bitter that my choices was never in the majority.) A great show in general, and a perfect one for a fringe audience.
