Woody made a perfect mix of scripted and improv moments, both owning up to the silliness of it all while keeping us all immersed in both the character of Keanu Reeves and Woody himself. Woody was masterful at weaving in running bits, audience interaction, and mandatory action scenes hahaha
The dynamic lighting and sounds added to the experience and he also did some really creative use of a John Wick action figure. I don’t want to spoil much more than that but the show was everything I was hoping for from Woody and more.
What I didn't like
I wish I had more constructive criticism but I don’t have a whole lot of improves. Even the line that Woody had flubbed towards the end of the show he was able to improv his way out of and bring the audience in on it. Learning after the fact that the chant we did for the time travel segments doesn’t happen every show only sold me more on his ability to roll with the punches.
The show had a solid intro, middle, and end as far as flow goes.
Only issue I can think of is that it was advertised as all five John Wick movies in one but he only covered the first movie… but who actually cares? The show ruled
My overall impression
Woody absolutely killed it. It was more than just 45 minutes of Keanu Reeves impressions, it was an exploration of the man himself and the performer playing him. The show was hilarious but also dove deeper into multiple emotional spectrums and thoughts.
