What I liked

Charlie Day brings to life Shakespeare’s Bottom, the fun-loving donkey-man from A Midsummer Night’s Dream! This is a wild interpretation of the character, done in such a clever way- I’d see this again in a heartbeat. Charlie is a true master of the theatrical craft!

What I didn't like

I only wish there were more performances so people could enjoy this amszing play! Let’s hope Charlie comes back next year!

My overall impression

Charlie Day does an amazing job at reinterpreting Shakspeare’s clown character Nick Bottom. Funny, fresh, interesting and introspective, Charlie takes us on a ride filled with comedy, jokes, rhymes, storytelling and even some dance. What starts out as a play to be pout on by Bottom and his colleagues, soon turns as Bottom is left to go it alone! And he does great! He improvs, works with the audience, tells us tales of the great “Willie S” and we are along for the journey! Soon the tale gets serious as we see into who Bottom really is. Will he be OK? Is this going to be a Shakespearean tragedy?
