The Great Wildcat Jackson

ian price · June 07, 2022 uncertified reviewer
If you need a reprieve from the traditional Fringe fair, and wanna be entertained for a little bit, this show is for you. Wildcat Jackson manages to be hilarious, entertaining, and for a couple of acts, quite daring. Some of his tricks made me gasp and cringe, but in the best way possible. I can't recommend his show enough. ... full review

The Undiscovered Country: A skeptics guide to the afterlife

Larry shows us his comedic side that feels like a mix of Rodney Dangerfield with mix of Cheech Marin, and kept me entertained the entire time. But what really stole the show was his vulnerable side. This story is clearly very personal, and it takes a lot of guts to be vulnerable like that on stage, and it pays off well. ... full review

Tabletop (the musical)

ian price · June 19, 2019 certified reviewer
A pretty cleaver musical about a small friend-group united around their love for D&D and Tabletop RPGs. Solid acting, singing, choreography, including some fights that just made me go "oh man, that sounded like it hurt." Though it feels a bit long, if you can fit it into your schedule, I don't think you'll be disappointed.... full review

Always Open

A snapshot of 90's life as told from a group of friends who seem to be going nowhere in life, and are cool with it. Images of Bill and Ted and the cast of Friends are conjured up when watching this show, and in some ways the show reaches those heights, and sometimes it does not. But at the end of the day, I don't regret seeing this show, and I don't think you will either. Check it out.... full review

Pocketmon! A Parody Musical

A musical that both as a Pokemon fan and a lover of a good time, had me crying laughing. When it comes to parody musicals at the Hollywood Fringe, this is what future shows should strive for.... full review

A facinating snapshot of John Lennon, and the interview that changed the public perception of him forever. This play was well acted, written, and directed. I only wish I could've gotten more!... full review

The Midnight Menagerie

The Midnight Menagerie takes what most of us hate about Hollywood, or maybe have had to deal with in Hollywood, and enjoy some good old-fashioned schadenfreude as they all finally cross the wrong man: THE SCREENWRITER.......who just also happens to be a mob boss. It's a hilarious, dark, and gory romp, with some pretty amazing performances by the cast. The dialogue is witty, fast, and sarcastic, reveling in every second of the run. Trust me, if you need a good laugh, this is the show to see. ... full review

Just One Moment

A fantastically deep an interesting story hidden away in what appears to be a generally boring setting, Just One Moment is a diamond in the rough, with rich characters, all with their own motivations that drive them. What one seems on the outside is only the surface of what rich depths these characters have. Not to mention the purgatory setting has it's own rich rules, some which are laid out, and some that are left to the imagination. Plus, as a person who's survival job is in a call center, it ... full review

Super creative, super fun, and super bloody and gory. MB stage takes the best elements of The Video Games, adds a cup of clever ingenuity, and a dash of Until Dawn to create something truly fun. ... full review
