DI LADY DI

Such a complex show, but yet with only one person. Munson takes the audience through the story of Lady Diana, playing several characters, as well as Diana at different ages in her life. Very polished!... full review

Washington Square: a Chamber Opera

A Chamber Opera at Hollywood Fringe Festival? Who knew that would be an option? But, it was. And I am so glad I went. With a Score by Felix Jarrar and a Libretto by Thomas Barrett Blakeley you can't go wrong. And the four cast members each brought their own colorful voice and interpretation to the characters. ... full review

Tight: Sexy Stories about Pelvic Pain

steve trzaska · June 13, 2022 certified reviewer
Neuroproliferative Vestibulodynia. Say that ten times fast! And no, it's not what Mary Poppins sings about. It's a serious subject, but yet Feldman adds several sketch elements that makes it lighter and easier to address. Very clever way in telling her story of pelvic pain! ... full review

Too Big For Her Britches

FINALLY a solo show actor who actually embodies each character FULLY! It's a tough job, but Pezik is up to the task. And the songs she sings aid her in conveying her message of self-love... and reminding the audience that being "Too Big for your Britches" can be a GOOD thing. ... full review

What a treat to see Rebecca McGlynn on stage! Such an interesting way to tell her story...and, all the while educating the audience on the various layers of sexuality. Each character was specific and had a purpose. ... full review

The Shape of Me

YOU HAVE TO SEE "THE SHAPE OF ME!" Amanda Lynne commands your attention right away...so well spoken and lays down the law in an almost "God-like" fashion. And then, out of nowhere appears Vejune who keeps the message going. LOVE YOURSELF! FUCK WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS! YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO TELL ME WHO I NEED TO BE! LIVE OUT LOUD AND PROUD! ... full review

Tommy Cooper: I Didn't Let You Down, Did I?

steve trzaska · June 06, 2022 certified reviewer
I'm not a fan of magic...but somehow the day I saw Tommy Cooper, I saw two shows that were utilizing magic to help tell the story. What I liked about Tommy Cooper was that it was not all fun and games though. There were serious moments where Niek sheds light on Cooper's many demons, including his affinity for alcohol. I really enjoyed Niek's portrayal. Very grounded and genuine.... full review

THE GREAT SATAN SPEAKS - THE WISDOM OF ROBERT G. INGERSOLL

steve trzaska · June 06, 2022 certified reviewer
What a FANTASTIC show! There are many different types of solo shows., one being based on an actual real person. Well, Ernest fully embodied Robert G. Ingersoll... in fact, Ernest was probably more Ingersoll than Ingersoll ever was. He kept my attention the entire time and the space at the Wren Theatre was PERFECT for this show. ... full review

The Undiscovered Country: A skeptics guide to the afterlife

What a life Larry has led and so grateful he is around to share it! He is very charming and yet is still vulnerable in sharing very powerful realizations he has had. ... full review
