It is invigorating to watch George literally evolve from one character to the next and I was on the edge of my seat at each transition to see who we would meet next. The biggest strength of Nyx is the production’s attention to detail and world building. The costumes, set, and fight choreography create a world that is equal parts disturbing and wonderful. Even the pre-show announcement is thoroughly planned out and themed to create an environment of glamorous chaos. If you enjoy the TV show Arcane or any Harley Quinn show or movie, this story feels like a direct continuation. The whole experience is a finely polished spectacle.... full review

Dog of Carnage is a delightful yet tragic play that unpacks complex issues with light-hearted comedy. The core charm of the play comes from watching the actors play verbal tennis, and it’s amazing how often you switch who you are rooting for throughout the show. The actors do a phenomenal job embodying the script’s quick beat shifts from tender to funny to chaotic, and the story has a shocking number of unexpected twists and turns. QFWFQ is the theatrical embodiment of getting cozy, grabbing a cup of tea, and spending the afternoon curling up with a good, philosophical book. The writing is quick, whimsical, funny, tragic, absurd and everything I’ve ever wanted out of a solo show. Gregory Nussen is magnetic and I didn’t want the show to end. The stories that Aditi tells in Riding in Cars with Girls are equal parts profound, educational, inspirational, and heart breaking. The central motif of exploring Los Angeles’ car driven culture proves to be a fascinating way to explore gender roles and international politics. Kevin August shines in this blend of stand up comedy and one-man-show theatricality. The Exit Interview covers a variety of profoundly relatable topics ranging from corporate culture to childhood nostalgia. The stories that Kevin tells onstage masterfully toe the line between genuine, hilarious, and sad. The writing is so intelligent and the deliveries are so quick that I want to see the show again simply to try to see what jokes I missed. Eternal Flamer is a very polished ~70 minute deep dive into a wacky 1980s world of drugs, sex, and fading innocence.
