I loved it! Adam tells his story with so much heart that it's hard not to root for him. He is so funny. Truly, I was smiling the whole time. He brings so much energy to every single piece of the show, and really dives into all the ways a dysfunctional family can impact who you become in the world. A show with a lot of heart, hard honest truths, and karaoke! R.M. explores the loneliness of motherhood and denying your authenticity beautifully, and with a great amount of fun absurdity. R.M. is a wonderful clown who knows how to keep the audience engaged for both the silliness and heartbreak. A powerful piece and performance. Jamar inhabits each character with such empathy and care that it's hard for the audience not to relate to the constant pull of voices in our head telling us who we "should" be. It is as timely as ever and forces us to see that when we strip away all of the layers we are all human, and that is what connects us. That is what must connect us. Mary told an incredibly personal story with humor and heart. She gave voice to all the parts and voices in our heads that tend to make us feel less than we are. But through facing them, and exposing her own insecurities, we see Mary's own transformation away from the baggage of the past, and see her beautifully step into her own sense of self. I loved it! Mallie's stamina is incredible! So funny, and poignant, and truly just a joy of a show to watch and be part of (there are some interactive parts that are just a delight). It was a beautiful look into how we escape into movies when our own world feels like it's crumbling. I related so much to all the big feelings Mallie reads throughout her journal entries.
