The Men Who Drew The Universe

This is a great little play and feels like it was personally built for me. As someone who worked in the comics industry for 22 years and has been a life-long fan, this is a story I am familiar with. What Joshua does well is distill it down to its essence and share with you both the legends and the truth about what really happened. It's well directed, traversing a long period of time with brief moments of fourth-wall breaking that feels natural. Fringe should be either be a place to experi... full review

Husky Whispers: Baked Alaska

An absolutely delightful hour of comedy and music. Riley & Cole commit to the bit the entire way, have crafted hilarious songs and do a great job connecting with their audience. The final song is a brilliant choice, where after 55 minutes of giving us laughs they truly show us who they are with a beautiful rendition of a Bruce Springsteen song. Bravo.... full review

Strange Beings

Instantly one of my favorite shows of the 2026 Hollywood Fringe. The production design was great, the script was poignant and acting was outstanding. Strange Beings understands what the best science fiction always has: the stars are just a backdrop. At its core, this is a story about two people — former partners, now each contentedly married — trapped together on a space ship with nowhere to hide from their history. The threat outside is real, but the more compelling tension is the one betwee... full review

Angst

This is a beautiful meta-comedy about life that I think we can all relate to. The script by Lucas James Nelson is wonderfully self-aware and relatable, with an added bonus of being beautifully self-depricating of itself and the festival it's a part of. Luca's writing is sharp, funny and personal. Sharp directing by Casey Buxton-Dean gives this fourth wall breaking show a really grounded feel, something that's not easy to pull off when there's this much conversation. The stars, Spencer & The... full review

Bombshell

I really enjoyed this show. Alli embodied the spirit of Anna Nicole Smith well, no small feat as she was one of the biggest personalities and icons of fashion and reality television in the 90s. It's the unexpected shifts in the show I found captivating. No spoilers here, but she does something that is at once obvious, but completely surprising. A shift in her character that really works. Well acted and well written. ... full review

The Council of Elrond: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring: Extended Editon: Part 4

What a wonderful surprise! Riley & Cole do an amazing job of keeping the show moving at a quick pace and keeping all the participants in line. You will laugh. You'll laugh again. Then you'll laugh some more. You don't have to love or even be familiar with the Lord of the Rings to enjoy this show, but if you are, well, it'll make your night. Beautiful piece of improvisational comedy.... full review

White Lilies

A truly excellent piece of drama by first time playwright Rush Zutshi. He employs masterful use of dialogue with some real surprises along the way. It draws you in slowly in the very beginning until your mind is suddenly blown, then drops you in to a conversation between two brothers that is relatable. Then there's the ending, which hits you hard and will have you questioning your own reality. Truly one of the best Fringe offerings. Don't miss this.... full review

Grief Box

jonah weiland · June 11, 2026 certified reviewer
A fun exploration of grief and those "life strategists" & "inspirational speakers" who attempt to exploit people going through it. As serious as the subject matter is, it's more about those who attempt to take advantage of those struggling and how, secretly, they may be going through it themselves. The turn at the end is well earned and Kathleen was a delight to watch.... full review

F*cking Famous

There are many types of theater - comedy, drama, farce, melodrama, immersive, surrealism, theater of the absurd... and then there's Theater of Molly Sharpe. F*CKING FAMOUS is raunchy, gross, bizarre, unhinged and unapologetically it's own thing. And it's brilliant. There's nothing traditional about what she does in this show, it's held in a wig shop on Hollywood Blvd and that's not the only thing that sets it apart from the pack. It's hard to describe this show, but let's say it's a pitch-p... full review

Dinosaurs

This was a truly charming story about a very tough subject matter. Mandy impressed me as a playwright with last years ALL CATS GO TO HELL, and this did as well. Her performance as the dinosaur was beautifully engaging and funny and provided a nice counterpoint to the serious subject matter of the play. Hailey and Devin are a great pair, with wonderful chemistry and performances.... full review
