I laughed so hard throughout the entirety of One Man John Wick. The physical comedy, use of props, and sound effects were spot on. What a fun and campy show! The Transpiring is full of puns, pop references, upbeat hip hop beats and rapping, plot twists, and sitcom-esque family bonding under the most fantastical scenario. SAM is the perfect mix of musical theater, comedy, existential introspection, and heart. Sam is able to tug on the audiences’ heartstrings with such relatable struggles in the love and hate relationship that is being an artist in a city like Los Angeles. The Anti-Yogi is a phenomenal piece that makes audience members reconsider the way they engage with yoga and the world at large. Mayuri is completely in her element, able to express her passion and rage across multiple mediums of expression – dancing as well as acting as multiple people and deities. Yoga is more than just a series of poses. To Mayuri it is a spiritual practice, her culture, and a way of life that leaves the world a better place than the way we found it.
