Slürt

This show was absolutely brilliant. The gibberish language Slürt speaks is so masterful, it sounds like a real language, although most words cannot be clearly recognized. The few understandable words act as a hilarious punchline. As Slürt leaves Antarctica and makes her way to New York City, we see her learning new words, and the joys and heartbreak of human connection.... full review

Both sexy and empowering, with smart humor that gives the audience a lot to ponder. Bryan and Rachael are outstanding in their roles with excellent onstage chemistry as they argue, plead, and playfully banter. Rachael moves seamlessly between the role of the actress auditioning, and the character she is auditioning to play, with completely different accents and body language.... full review

Wilds of Sea

Enchanting and mesmerizing, this tale, told completely without words, is a true gem. It is more than a puppet show; it is true puppet mastery. Shannon handcrafted the delightful marine animal puppets, and they are operated by skilled puppeteers. Even the kelp-adorned waves that make up the backdrop are operated by puppeteers. Ocean sounds, lighting, and music complete the performance.... full review

FUCK! An Iceberg: A One Woman Titanic with Magic Preshow

When I saw the extensive props for this show, I knew I should expect the unexpected, and I was right. But the unexpected did not stop at the use of creative props, but applied to the entire storyline. That was the biggest surprise. Rather than just a comedic solo retelling of the movie “Titanic,” the story alternates between those scenes, and Mallie’s real diary entries starting at age 11 when she first saw and fell in love with the movie, to age 18. In so doing it draws parallels between the mov... full review

Betsy approaches the challenges of growing up poor and with ADHD, with incredible humor. The stage is simple, adorned with boxes Betsy’s ADHD won’t let her fit in. A Peacock In The Rubble

Brave storytelling in its open honesty and vulnerability. With evocative images and memories, both sweet and heartbreakingly painful, Marissa gives the audience a greater understanding of OCD and the effect it has had on her life, dispelling in the process the many misunderstandings about OCD. In the aftermath of the Eaton Fire and the loss of so much she had held dear, Marissa’s work truly speaks of a triumph of the spirit and her faith in humanity and herself. ... full review
