Aaron is a masterful storyteller, who speaks with equal parts honesty and humor on his life, his disability, and dating. He even speaks with the same honesty on the ways in which society incentivizes dishonesty in its quest for a feel good story. It’s a story about having to modify expectations to find satisfaction, and that’s a real story that left me feeling better than any contrived feel good story ever could....

This show was wild! Imagine that a gruesome murder occurs, and everyone reacts in a way that is callous, thoughtless, clueless, and absolutely hilarious! From the girlfriend of the victim who is instantly sexually attracted to everyone in the room (including the murderer himself), to the pizza delivery man, to the girlfriend’s self-absorbed friend, to the landlord who can only say, “bit of a mess in here,” no one behaves in a way that is typical of someone stumbling upon a murder scene. Imagine f...

Victoria believes her neighbor, a man she is attracted to, has murdered multiple young women, and she asks: why not her? Is she too old? Not attractive enough? This show leads the audience on a downward spiral into depression and mania, as she tries to figure out what to wear, decides she needs to put on makeup, needs to bake some cookies. She rehearses the words she should she use to confront him. The audience watches Victoria suffer a mental breakdown in front of them....

A great standup show by Dale, who covers a wide range of subjects personal to him with great wit—among them his hearing impairment, his stroke, COVID lockdown, and finally a beautiful butt-covered beach in Brazil. It doesn’t get more widely ranging than that, and there wasn’t a single subject that I didn’t laugh at....

There is a comfortable familiarity to the couple Eamon and Shaparak from the moment we first see them on stage. In the course of a night as they stay awake awaiting the Persian New Year, Nowruz, when they will call Shaparak’s mother in Iran at 3 in the morning, we hear them talk of their cultures, but also more mundane and sometimes silly topics such as farts, backgammon, and George of the Jungle 2. We learn that Shaparak is a woman of many words, and Eamon a man who prefers fewer. They talk, pl...

Aditi introduces the theme of women and cars with a feeling that many of us, especially those of us in L.A., can relate to: driving is a hassle.
From there, she shifts to a series of vignettes that link driving to freedom, in countries such as Saudi Arabia where women fought for the right to drive. Or where cars represent a ticket out of marital abuse and the oppression of small villages....
