The Bureau of Recollected Lives

brenda wong · June 16, 2026 certified reviewer
Set in England after WWI, the dialogue and attention to details in this period drama give this play an air of gentle subtlety. The story revolves around the Bureau of Recollected Lives, an agency dedicated to tracking down the memory of missing loved ones. The story opens as Evelyn hires Sidney, who has returned from the war, to be her secretary. Even as the agency does not initially draw clients, Sidney has questions of his own about his missing father. There is a sweet chemistry between the two... full review

DOLL COURT

We love Fringe for the creative, fun, eccentric, and surreal theater experiences of letting artists pursue their passions and achieve their visions. Nothing could be more representative of this than playing with dolls in a shop full of colorful wigs. Maddie is fun and energetic as she leads the audience through this interactive show in which audience members play the characters in court represented by the dolls--the accused, the accuser, the defense attorney. It's pure silly fun that will ... full review

Mark Vigeant: OUT THERE

brenda wong · June 09, 2026 certified reviewer
You are the water. You are the trees. You are the fish and the birds and the insects and animals of the Alaskan wilderness. This is not just some Zen wisdom, although I suppose it could be. This is Mark Vigeant's "Out There," an interactive show that has the entire audience playing all these parts as Mark plays Larry, an engineer contemplating whether he might be having a midlife crisis as he sets out on a solo trip in Alaska. Of course, in these times, a solo adventure is meaningless unle... full review

A cosmic fun musical with positive vibes. It manages to be very lighthearted, despite its existential undertones. What Happens In the Dark

brenda wong · June 24, 2025 certified reviewer
Fun premise: the lights are reversed, so that anything the audience is watching, is the action that happens in the dark. The action opens with a burglar stumbling around in the dark, then the couple with marital difficulties enters and the fun begins. A fourth person adds to the mayhem as we watch people bump into each other, touch each other, and talk to each other, unaware of the presence of all who are in the house. ... full review
