This is such a fun and interesting show! I loved the trajectory of the plot throughout the piece, we went so many places I really felt like this roadtrip show was moving moving moving!!! BABY deserves to win TOP OF FRINGE. Baby is extremely precise while being deliciously messy. Baby is a clown show, a therapist devolving into a mutated mirror for the audience, a distinct and disturbing baby’s “Waaaaaaa” from a beautiful artist! I trust Rachael on stage to cradle us and to ask to be cradled. Whoah what a deeply personal and uniquely presented show!! So dark while being delightfully uplifting and sweet. This juxtaposition of opposite energies in this show, with each role pushing into different extremes made the pain of the main character more palpable as well as brought light to her intensity. WOW such a beautiful and intense delve into the inner mind of Emily and her phobia of vomiting! I felt like I got to experience the phobia and then push it away with Emily and then get submerged in it over and over again while laughing and being enraptured by her emotions and silly manic energy! You may think you know the Lord of the Rings the Fellowship of the Ring but you haven't seen it laid out this hilariously and bluntly and chaotically before and you will be missing out if you don't see it through Riley's bearded Gandalf eyes. TRULY an absolute enthralling hilarious romp the entire time! I was sitting in the front row just laughing my ass off at the writing and the acting and the heartwarming energy coming off this musical! A delightful peek into the many personalities inside this lovely performer!!! I love astrology and found the characterizations of the zodiac signs intriguing and sexy and bombastic! She really has a lovely stage presence and juggled SO MANY SILLY AND TRANSFORMATIVE props to shift herself between the signs. loved that she switched between recorded backing tracks and a real piano and lip sync. Heart Held at Knife Point truly captivated me and made me feel like I was transported straight into a wild new and frightening metaphor of the pain of love. Wow I had such a surreal and fun time in the Complaints Dept. walkthrough experience. The planning and coordination that went into this piece really shows - it felt like journeying through an absurd dimensional building with strange new beings trapped behind each door! Chanel knows how to work a crowd! We were on their side the whole time and it was refreshing and captivating to watch them project their bad exs onto us and lead us through their relational misfortunes. Chanel has so much spunk and sass and stage prescience! A fun ride and lots of mixed media experiences and moments for genuine audience interaction and queer playfulness.
