At first I thought the show was going to be centered around the guy with the flannel around his waist. He’s purposefully a little obnoxious and interrupts his girlfriend, so you don’t know whether or not you should like him. But then, the girlfriend ends up sticking up for herself and you realize the play doesn’t center around them at all. In fact, it centers around the diner itself and how a central meeting place can bring so much life into one room. This is a story about a diner and how people ... full review

Clementine

I keep delaying writing this review because I wanted to really sit down and think about what I was going to say before writing it. Well, I've thought about it now. April is one of those actors that I'm guessing gets underestimated. I can tell because I've seen it. It appears to me that stories on motherhood aren't as interesting as other stories. Which doesn't make sense to me, seeing as motherhood is literally what made all of us who we are today. There was a person out there that played some ... full review

Transference

Lisa is absolutely perfect for this role. She’s clever, quick, and has this subtle cheekiness that fits right in to this piece. I loved the set design and how the bright reds contrasted with the black box. It was very modern-looking and not like it was put together in 15 minutes (the usual load-in time for fringe shows). I felt like I was actually in the room with them, like we were flies on the wall. I like that. ... full review

The Mayor's Debate of Tranquility, Nebraska

My favorite ensemble shows are ones where the cast meshes easily and obviously gets along well with each other. Mayor’s Debate was exactly this. The actors were playful, imaginative, and had *fun* on the stage. Believe it or not, sometimes you can tell actors aren’t having fun. This wasn’t the case for Mayor’s Debate.... full review

How I Became A Superhero

This show is a grand ol' good time. It was fun from start to finish and I left the theatre feeling pleased I had seen it. It's not meant to be super *****deep***** and I appreciated that. Also, that actor Jessica (I think that's her name) is so charming and likable on-stage and I love her character work. Should I steal it for my own show? Mwuahahah we shall never know >:)... full review

Batter Up! My Brain on Baseball

Brett is the kind of guy who I could watch read nutrition facts off of cereal boxes and I'd still be enthralled. He has such a natural, comfortable presence on-stage that you don't even feel like you're watching a show.... full review

Victoria Gordon - Live at the Hollywood Fringe

Victoria is relatable and invites the audience into a small slice of her life growing up in LA. I loved how I could relate to the moments of young adulthood that she told us about (boys, high school). Hopefully I’ll get to see Victoria perform again!... full review

Chrissy Meth~A Dance with the Devil and the Journey Back

Crystal is comfortable in her body on-stage and she doesn’t hold back from diving into her playful, youthful imagination. I could watch her dance around onstage all day!... full review

Red Bar

This is an insider look into the underground life of a group of serial killers. Expect audience participation, body bags, and a lot of bricks. The beginning of the play seemed like a dark comedy for me, I’m not sure if that was the intention, but I enjoy dark comedies so it worked well for me. The ending? Well...that’s definitely not a comedy! ... full review

Pocketmon! A Parody Musical

So fun and so entertaining. I didn’t know what to expect going in and I was pleasantly aurprised. I think you guys should take this to other places once Fringe is over because it would be a shame if more people didn’t see it. It’s a spectacular example of how to do a low budget Fringe musical and still have an excellent show. I was very impressed. ... full review
