The End of the World

LOS ANGELES, CA – Award-winning storyteller and actress Destiny Faith brings her deeply personal and
highly anticipated solo show The End of the World, to the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival this June. Directed
by Emmy Award winning artist Sabrina Cofield, this multidisciplinary production blends dark comedy, spoken
word, and digital satire to confront the existential weight carried by so many in today’s chaotic world.
The End of the World follows Desiree, the epitome of a “Strong Black Woman,” who has finally reached her
breaking point. Tired of being the responsible one, tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop, and tired of the
relentless performance of survival, Desiree decides that if she truly has control over her life, she should be able
to end it. But before she goes, this aspiring writer is determined to write one final draft—making her suicide
note her best work yet.

“The world is crazy and scary right now, and we all feel it,” says Destiny Faith, the show’s creator and star. “The End of the World was born from a feeling I know many of us share: the exhaustion of trying to survive in a world that feels increasingly chaotic, absurd, and emotionally unsustainable. As a Black woman who has often been ‘the strong one,’ I know what it means to be relied on, praised for resilience, and still feel unseen in your pain.”

The production—which will head to the world renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland after its
Hollywood run—challenges the societal expectations placed on Black women, exploring the desire to be seen as fully human. It tackles themes of mental health, burnout, suicidal ideation, and existential grief with raw
honesty, particularly within Black communities where these conversations are often overlooked.

“This story is deeply personal,” Faith adds. “My stepfather survived a suicide attempt, and that experience forever shaped how I understand silence, despair, and the things people carry behind closed doors. I created this piece to hold all of it: the darkness, the humor, the contradiction, and the very human desire to be seen before it’s too late.”

The End of the World invites audiences to get closer to Desiree on her last day, offering a poignant reminder that everyone deserves to be seen layers deeper than their social media profiles. Through her story, the show
suggests that by truly seeing one another, we might just find the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel.
Destiny Faith, whose recent work includes leading the 96th Oscar-shortlisted and Diversity in Cannes-winning
short film Bienvenidos a Los Angeles (directed by Lisa Cole), pours her extensive experience into this solo
show. She is also a 2026 Stowe Story Labs Alumni. Joining her is director Sabrina Cofield, an award winning
artist, actor, writer, and director who helps bring this high-caliber, professional production to the stage.
