We are thrilled to announce that THEM’S THE SHAKES: LIFE, LOVE, AND PARKINSON’S will have a run at THE ACTOR’S COMPANY OTHER SPACE THEATER JUNE 13th through JUNE 28th as a part of the 2026 HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL.
stagetakes.com says THEM’S THE SHAKES is “a hidden gem of the Hollywood fringe festival, a rare experience of truth on stage” and that “Moody makes us laugh, makes us cry, and offers us a different and unique perspective.”
THEM’S THE SHAKES is an autobiographical play written by and starring former musician JEREMY MOODY, and tells his story of living with YOUNG ONSET PARKINSON’S DISEASE.
After his life is upended by the diagnosis, the thirty-something musician struggles navigating single life with a degenerative brain disease while leaning heavily on his best friend RYAN (played by BRITT JOHNSON). After Ryan’s wife gives birth to a girl who is nicknamed “BABY”, Jeremy finds a new reason to live and quickly things turn around when he meets and falls in love with the charismatic and chaotic CAITLIN (played by DANA MAJESKI). Right when “life can’t get any better,” Jeremy learns that Parkinson’s is not the worst news as a series of tragic events befall the family. Some relationships are strengthened while others are irreconcilably broken.
Moody’s sense of humor and vulnerable storytelling combines with the brilliant vision of director REMI MOSES and moving performances by Johnson and Majeski to tell a powerful story about what happens when life forces us to face no win situations and having just one more day with the people we love.
THEM’S THE SHAKES is co-produced by JAMES CAMALI with MOODY and MOSES, and features new original score by CHRISTOPHER ROYAL KING.
