A STAND-UP COMEDY ABOUT GETTING DIVORCED AND JOINING A CULT

Eat Pray Cult

view project

Well, almost a cult.

EAT PRAY CULT is a stand-up comedy show about getting divorced, hitting rock bottom, and finding belonging in a place that’s definitely not a cult. It’s a place where Amy found herself asking why people stay, why they leave, what society gets right, and whether your own personal apocalypse can sometimes be the beginning of something better.

Part memoir, part social commentary, and partly a celebration of door hinges, EAT PRAY CULT explores community, reinvention, and what you should really do when the world is falling apart.

Presented as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

About the Artist:
Amy’s experiences at Mars College, an experimental intentional community in the California desert, inspired EAT PRAY CULT. Her involvement with Mars College has been featured in national media, and she has also written about the community and the creation of this show. Through comedy, she examines the tension between idealism and reality, belonging and independence, and what it actually looks like to live differently.
