Gilded Rage: The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Behead
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GILDED RAGE Brings Feminist Fury, Absurdist Comedy, and Royal Chaos to the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2026
A fever-dream farce of power, performance, and rebellion asks: Who Killed the king?
LOS ANGELES, CA — June 03, 2026 — Prepare for a royal meltdown. Gilded Rage, a wildly theatrical new play blending clown, verse, song, and biting social satire, storms the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2026 with a glitter-covered battle cry against hypocrisy, power, and the ridiculous systems we inherit.
Equal parts period piece and modern fever dream, Gilded Rage transports audiences into a crumbling world of monarchy, morality, and manufactured perfection — where the wigs are enormous, the egos are fragile, and everyone is fighting to control the story.
Written and created by Julie Perkins, Gilded Rage fuses the sharp social wit of classical farce with the anarchic energy of contemporary clown. Inspired by the tradition of theatrical rebellion, the production uses absurdity, music, audience interaction, and heightened physical comedy to expose the absurd performances required to maintain power.
Think Molière colliding with Oh, Mary! — with a generous dose of modern clown chaos.
At the heart of Gilded Rage is a question that feels increasingly urgent: What happens when the people who benefit from a broken system are the ones writing the rules? Through outrageous characters and explosive theatricality, the show examines ambition, gender, image-making, and the endless human hunger to be seen, admired, and believed.
“*Gilded Rage* is a celebration of theatrical excess — a place where rage becomes comedy, comedy becomes rebellion, and the audience becomes part of the revolution.”
The production embraces the unpredictable nature of live performance, inviting actors and audiences into a shared experience where anything can happen. The ensemble plays with improvisation, transformation, and direct audience connection to create a world that feels both centuries old and alarmingly familiar.
In a time when public life often feels like a performance, Gilded Rage asks audiences to laugh, rage, and wonder: Are we watching the spectacle — or are we part of it?
