FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Blending cult horror aesthetics, dark comedy, high-energy memorable music, and theatrical chaos, DEAD JOHN is already generating underground buzz ahead of opening week, including a sold-out June 14th and closing night June 27th performances.

LOS ANGELES, CA — DEAD JOHN follows Third Twin, an all-female rock band on the verge of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction when a freak onstage accident kills one of its bandmates. As conspiracy-fueled rumors spread and a sinister deal with devilish media mogul Bobby Beelz begins to unravel, the band spirals into obsession, backstage chaos, rising body counts, and supernatural events — because the show must go on.

Inspired by everything from Stephen King and Final Destination to This Is Spinal Tap and ’80s arena rock, DEAD JOHN combines theatrical spectacle, dark comedy, supernatural horror, and live rock performance into a chaotic original musical experience featuring 13 original songs, an all-female cast, four full-scale death sequences, and an original score inspired by legendary bands including Journey, Def Leppard, Twisted Sister, KISS, and Mötley Crüe.

“The goal was to create something that feels less like traditional musical theatre and more like a blend of an arena rock concert in the middle of an 80s horror-comedy,” said composer, lyricist, and musical director Tyler Rivera Stein. “We wanted DEAD JOHN to feel loud, funny, weird, emotional, and slightly dangerous in the best possible way.”

The creative team brings together backgrounds in horror storytelling, immersive entertainment, television, film, live performance, and independent media production.

Music and lyrics are brought by NYU-Berklee trained composer Tyler Rivera Stein, book and direction by Logan Horberg, and production by Television Academy member and TV actress Taissa Zveiter (The Lincoln Lawyer, The Morning Show, High Potential). Choreography is led by sister duo Mina Ortega, director of the USC Trojan Dance Force, and Marina Ortega, director of the Boston Celtics Dance Team. Costume Design is by Angi Bell Ursetta, known for her contributions to several TV series and films (Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, Bel-Air, How to Get Away with Murder).

The incredible cast includes Sophia Marie Rizzo, Claire Jansen, Gabriella Certo, Joya Mia Italiano, Renee Cohen, Paulina Celeste, Tasha Taylor, Brittany Hoza, Kaylee Jaye, and Roo Dawn Spear.

DEAD JOHN will have its world premiere at The Madnani Theater, located at 6760 Lexington Ave. in Los Angeles, as part of the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
